Characteristics

Black Tiger Shrimps have distinct gray to black stripes on their shells and similar markings on the peeled meat. While most Black Tiger Shrimps are farmed, a significant portion is wild-caught by trawlers in waters ranging from shallow to over 300 feet deep. Farmed Black Tiger Shrimp are known for their mild flavor and meaty, juicy, firm texture. When cooked, their meat is softer compared to other shrimp species, making them a prominent product in the international seafood market.
